Critical incidents, officer involved shootings, and other situations are considered traumatic events. And these types of incidents typically cause unusually strong emotional reactions that have the potential to interfere with the ability to function normally. It is very common, and in fact quite normal, for people to feel emotional aftershocks when they have experienced a tragic event. Designed by experts in treating traumatic stress injuries, this retreat provides insight, healing, education, and support. We will work together to address personal difficulties and occupational trauma.

“I am a fire captain and have over 24 years in the fire services. I had a profound and positive experience at the Trauma and Resilience Retreat that provided a safe and supportive environment. It’s incredibly important for first responders to have access to effective mental health resources, especially considering the unique challenges we face in our careers. Taking the time to prioritize mental health is not a sign of weakness but rather a courageous step towards self-care and resilience. Thank you for helping me realize that others are in similar situations and it’s okay to seek help and we are not alone in our struggles.”
Tucked away in the mountains, together we will unplug from the distractions of daily life and keep things as natural as possible. Peace and quiet are essential to unpacking challenges and pursuing wellness. You will be able to take a deep breath of fresh air, let your guard down, and get away for a few days – focused solely on health and healing.
